Men are often accused of having just one thing on their mind. And it doesn't seem to have changed in thousands of years.

Archaeologists unearthing the oldest known piece of figurative art could not have been blamed if they were blushing while doing so.

This priceless ivory carving dates back 36,000 years ago and could signify a quantum leap in human thinking.

What does the figurine depict? Errr... a woman with, err, well developed... assets.

Yep, early man would have obviously liked his nudey mags.

But the discovery has more importance than just mere titillation.

The rise of figurine-carving modern human cultures in Europe coincided with the decline of Neanderthals.

Some boffins suspect humans of the era experienced a jump in mental abilities, giving them an advantage over their hairy cousins.

Although you have to wonder how they got ahead if they spent their time not hunting but carving naked chicks instead.

Weird Science Factoid: When you blush, the lining of your stomach also turns red.

Luckily, he is now not working on the Large Hadron Collider inadvertently creating a black hole that would swallow the world but is safely behind a desk writing this blog, bringing you the fantastical underbelly of nature... weird science.
