Really stupid buildings from high above
Dubai is the world capital of stupid buildings.
Even if they've been hit by the crunch recently, the Middle Eastern municipality is still the undisputed king of unnecessary and ridiculous building projects.
And here is a photo taken from the International Space Station are three human-made archipelagos
The two Palm Islands (Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali) appear as stylized palm trees when viewed from above, while the World Islands evoke a rough map of the globe.
Also visible at the lower edge of the photograph is another notable structure - the Burj Khalifa, which stands 800 meters (2,600ft) high and it is currently the world's tallest structure.
