Asteroid says hi
An asteroid made a flying visit through the Earth system this week.
Dubbed 2010 AL30, the 30-50ft-wide rock was in no danger of hitting us and even if it had would have probably harmlessly burned up our atmosphere.
However, it did pass at a distance of one-third that between us and the Moon. That's close.
