JFK assassin photo was NOT faked
A computer scientist says the famous photo of Lee Harvey Oswald holding a rifle is the real deal.
Conspiracy theorists have long said the incriminating image was fake, as did Oswald at the time.
Skeptics say the lighting and shadows on the photo are inconsistent, indicating it had been mocked up by god knows who.
But Dartmouth's Hany Farid has used the very latest in digital forensics to reveal it was almost certainly not altered.
Fraid and his team ran the image through lots of hi-tech tests to explain the so-called inconsistencies.
And it turns out all of them can be explained by one single light source, the Sun.
The reason we see shadowy forces at work is all down to how our noggins work.
Quoted on Science Daily, Farid said: ""The human brain, while remarkable in many aspects, also has its weaknesses. The visual system can be quite inept at making judgments regarding 3-D geometry, lighting, and shadows."
"It is highly improbable that anyone could have created such a perfect forgery with the technology available in 1963."
"As our digital forensic tools become more sophisticated, we increasingly have the ability to apply them to historic photos in an attempt to resolve some long-standing mysteries."
I'm no conspiracy nut, but my brain must be playing tricks on me as it still look like a dodgy pic to me.
