Tyrannosaurus rex was a yellow belly
New research has shown the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex to be nothing more than a big chicken.
They didn't cluck, but they were certainly too cowardly to pick on a dino their own size.
Fossil evidence has revealed the T rex liked nothing better than swallowing their prey whole and so were very partial to BABIES.
The University of Munich says there is a distinct lack of any evidence of T rex attacks on the big herbivores alive at the same time.
What is true is the plant-eaters layed a lot of eggs and that it is probable scary predators with big reputations would have prefered to gulp up the young and defenseless than take on heavily-armoured mum or dad.
This might come as a shock to those of us who have been brought up with the image of the T rex as being the ultimate killing machine.
Yet even the most fearsome predators alive now will often pick on the inexperienced or the old prey rather than risk a tougher battle.
So the old Tyrannosaurus was nothing more than a scaredy-cat.
Though if I ever came across one face to face in a millionaire's petting zoo, I might think twice about repeating the accusation.
Weird Science Factoid: Dueling is legal in Paraguay, as long as both parties are registered blood donors. A highly practical solution that I'd like to see brought to many other countries...
