Cats are stupid and fish are clever?
OK, this makes no sense to me. A psychologist reckons cats are not as bright as we think they are.
Lecturer Britta Osthaus says felines do not understand cause-and-effect connections between objects
She concocted an experiment involving strings attached to fishy treats under a plastic screen.
The cats were tested in various ways and proved themselves to be dumber than dogs.
Surely some mistake?
In another study the stickleback has been revealed to be the genius of the fish world.
Researchers found that the nine-spined stickleback can locate the best sources of food simply by watching other fish.
They believe that the small fish, which measures less than three inches long, has had to evolve to be cleverer than other fish because it is a prime target for predators, making the journey to find food precarious.
Not only did the stickleback copy others, but they used that knowledge to find the most food.
Bone-headed cats and Einstein fish!
Having said all this, I'm sure there was a study years ago which found that cats were indeed the dumbest of all pets. But this was because they flatly refused to take part in the tests.

From personal experience, cats are not stupid. Evil, manipulative psychopaths they are. Ever tried to bath one? Its the quickest way to exfoliate your entire exposed skin area. Down to muscle.
Cats are cats, they must be cat, and no more and no less. The stupid humans that try to see in the cats, human behavior or human reaction are the stupid.

Lol. How is this even controversial? Cats ARE stupider than dogs. The size of a dog's cerebral cortex is MUCH bigger than a cat's. A chimp's is bigger than a dog's, and a human's bigger than a chimp's. There is really no controversy about it.
Size of the cerebellum is not necessarily indicative of a creature's intelligence. Indeed, some of the largest breeds of dogs are also the least likely to remember something taught to them.
Cats, when motivated, have a unique ability to pick things apart from afar, to take seemingly vicarious information and turn it into a working process. Cats are also equally attuned to human emotion - just less likely to do anything about it.
Furthermore, some cats have proven that they can remember and recognize more human phonemic relations than many of the best-trained primates. While they lack any ability to reciprocate these sounds, the calculating mind of one of the world's oldest predators is not to be trifled with.
After all... we're age-old predators too.

And what makes you think that fishes are clever? have you been able to interact with them or what? I can say that a cat or a dog is a lot smarter than a fish. You should see how my dog reacts when we're near a dog food shop or dog clothes and accessories shop for example. I'm sure you would think of them differently.

I would like to add, Owning a cat can help your immune function improve. The feelings you get related to the cat can help you give your immune system a boost. Cats often know when you are ill, and can come and provide you with comfort, helping you get better while boosting your immune system.

Cats are one of the best animals. Cats are just as smart as us humans that know alot like a scientest.
Cats are real smart. My cat saves me hundreds on dental bills. She licks my teeth and gums spotlessly clean with her rough tongue, better than a cleaning. She is always kissing me. My little Dr. Mittens!

Cats are not stupid.my cat knows how to knock just like we do and it can open the cupboard as well as find ways of getting into enclosed places.some times i feel like it can actually understand everything i say
