Ashley Blake caught out by TV
So Ashley Blake has been found guilty of unlawful wounding and perverting the course of justice after hitting a 17-year-old with a wooden pole and scarring him for life.
My first thought was to feel a little bit sorry for the Midlands Today presenter, whose usual smug air has been shattered. But the more I learn about the case - and especially his string of previous convictions - the more I feel justice has been served.
It's ironic that his lies were exposed thanks to television, as CCTV footage showed him brandishing the weapon.
I wonder if he turned to the camera and did his trademark wave?
He's certainly waved goodbye to his broadcasting career. People have made TV comebacks after court appearances before, but rarely from something as serious as this.
