BBC in incest shocker
Hurrah! Sanity has prevailed in the world of reality TV.
Maybe someone has been taking notice of my previous blog. I like to think this is the first place TV producers and all viewers come for advice. Or maybe not....
Anyway, Alexandra won X Factor. It's great that her fabulous voice won out over millions of giggly teenage girls voting for JLS just because they're fit.
And on Strictly Come Dancing, the producers didn't let John Sergeant's selfishness in waking out affect the final and put all three dancers through in a surprise but clever move.
Can't wait for next weekend now, it's going to be a corker.
Elsewhere in TV land, I've just got round to watching the last episode of Little Dorrit, which I loved.
Russell Tovey, who played unlucky-in-love turnkey John Chivery, was superb at conveying his heartache. To stand out in such an amazing cast took some doing, and I predict he's going to become a real star.
The only thing which distracted me in this classy production was Andy Serkis's comedy French accent. Just lay it on with a trowel, why don't you!
I was also a little confused when Arthur's secret was finally revealed. After 14 episodes, the truth tumbled out in too much of a rush.
Was I the only one who jumped to the wrong conclusion that Amy and Arthur had the same father?
I realised that couldn't be true when they got married, as I don't think Dickens - or certainly the BBC before 9pm - tackled incest.
