Gadget Review: Archos 32 Internet tablet 8gb
We are now firmly in the touch-screen generation and with Apple dominating the proceedings there are many products attempting to join the party.
This particular touch screen gadget from Archos is an alternative product a bit further down the price scale but not shy in offering a vast package of entertainment and multimedia options.
With a built in camcorder, 3D graphic accelerator and WiFi connectivity it's a powerful little device that is surprisingly lightweight, I have an iPhone 4 and I would say that was 3 times as heavy.
There is a lot packed into this, you get a great multimedia player which supports HD in 720p, an 8gb memory and the ability to listen to your music and download 3d games.
Being an Android media player there is also access to the Android market for all those vital apps giving you plenty of options for expanding its uses.
I was impressed with the colour display and video playback on the device as I was with the audio quality.
It is a very interesting alternative to the likes of the iPod, and my only gripe was that the scrolling and touch wasn't always as responsive and fluent as it could have been.
The size and practicality of the Archos is a real winner and it impresses in many areas. If you aren't looking to spend a fortune on a pocket multimedia player then this could be the one for you.
Score 3/5
