Review: Despicable Me

By Steve Wollaston on Oct 28, 10 08:11 PM

Leaning heavily on the film of the same name this game is a decent game that looks great on the surface.

Visually it is what you would expect from any game that is based on a high quality animated blockbuster.

It has translated well and the voice acting is also superb.

But what does it play like? Well it's quite a basic and amiable cross between a puzzle game and a platform game.

You play as Gru who is plotting to build a rocket ship and steal the moon.

Aiding you are your little yellow minions who help you in your quest to find the last pieces to construct the rocket.

The side-scrolling platform action is standar fare but totally acceptable and reasonably good fun.

The puzzle games require some use of the old brain matter and at times can be extremely tricky.

This probably isn't for everyone but it's a decent title that is good fun albeit not particularly revolutionary.
