World Of Zoo (Wii)

By Steve Wollaston on Nov 19, 09 12:26 PM

Cute animals, clever use of the Wii-mote, bags of colour and oodles of kiddie-appeal.

Yes, it's another Christmas game aimed at the kids, but a very good one to boot.

Here's what 11-year-old Katie Smith thought of the game:

The game reminds me a little bit of Zoo tycoon which my sister and dad play. This is aimed more at younger children though and is far less complicated and lots more fun for me.

I love the way that you get to design your animals and I also like how you get to play with them, feed them and look after them using the Wii-mote.

For example you can throw steak to the lions, groom the animals and even play with a grizzly bear!

The characters are all very big and cute and you really want to look after them after you have given them a name. You have to develop a relationship with the animals to for hearts to appear and for them to become your friends.

I found the controls of the game very easy to use and it felt very natural and used the Wii-mote very well.

I am enjoying playing zoo-keeper but even on the Wii it can be really hard work!

You have options in the sense that you can just create your zoo and mess about a bit or you can try and unlock different things through completing objectives.

This is a fantastic game for kids and if you love animals you will think it is great!

I learnt so much about animals, what they eat and where they are from.
