Saw: The Video Game (360)

By Steve Wollaston on Nov 25, 09 11:16 AM

If you thought it was impossible for anything to be more macabre than the Saw films then think again because the game is even worse!

You play as Detective David Tapp and you are Jigsaw's latest torture victim. He has rather kindly inserted a key inside you.

He has then informed everyone in the asylum that they should tear your insides out in order to get the key to escape.

You are stuck in the asylum and need to unravel the puzzles and battle for your life.

This is a very dark game indeed both in delivery and subject matter and there is very little let-up in the gloom and dread.

That's not to say this is a bad thing. Actually this is not just a rushed out tie-in game. This is a very well thought out and excellently delivered game. It deals with the franchise well and will raise some knowing nods of appreciation from fans.

Play this with the lights off at night and the tension and anxiety really will grip you and pull you in. This is a scary game mark my words.

Gruesome, sick, atmospheric, brutal, bloody and downright frightening!

In fact he is probably far too old for it now which is why you will see a lot of reviews been done by kids... His major love is sports games and rates Sensible World of Soccer circa 90's as the greatest game ever made - closely followed by Championship Manager 2. Skyrim has currently taken over his life.
