Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City (360)

By Steve Wollaston on Nov 25, 09 11:14 AM

There is little point in me going through the usual drill regarding GTA.

Everyone knows about this game now. Perhaps the most controversial game of all time, but also one of the best.

The vastness of Liberty City shocked everyone. What you basically have is New York - quite literally, recreated in game format.

That's some achievement.

Throw in some of the vilest gameplay, stupidly addictive car chases and general depravity and you have a game that society doesn't want to exist yet gamers worship.

This expansion to the latest GTA game is basically two very generously sized games that offer great value for money and very much more of the same for fans of the series.

The two new games are "The Ballad of Gay Tony" & "The Lost and Damned". The excellent latter game was released a while back so we will gloss over that one and concentrate on Gay Tony!

This is really GTA IV signing off in explosive and unforgettable style... everything you loved is still here and then some.

It's almost like Rockstar games just decided to save the best till last and take things on a notch.

You take on the role of Luis Lopez, hoodlum and assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (a.k.a. "Gay Tony")

Once again you are thrust into the seedy underbelly of the Liberty City crime world as a misunderstood hoodlum trying to fathom out where the next pay-cheque and back-stabbing is going to come from.

As usual women, drinking, drugs, fast cars and murder are high on the agenda and all are presented with amazing graphics, blindingly addictive gameplay and the most fun you can possibly imaginable.

With parachutes, new weapons and new vehicles thrown in this is a Molotov Cocktail of a game and one that will indeed blow you away.

If you are a fan don't hesitate.

His major love is sports games and rates Sensible World of Soccer circa 90's as the greatest game ever made - closely followed by Championship Manager 2.
