UP (Xbox 360)

Review by Katie Smith, aged 11

I HAVE wanted to watch Disney's new film UP for weeks now and after playing the game I want to watch it even more.

The game is set in the jungle so, as you would expect, it is full of weird and wacky creatures that will get in your way, attack you or help you.

You can control different characters like Russell, Carl, Dug the talking dog and a bird named Kevin, or you can play with a friend through the entire game.

Kevin is funny because he only likes Russell. We know this because whenever Carl goes near him he has a fit but he's ok with Russell.

It is full of fun and feels just like you are in the middle of the film because t he characters are very good and the jungle is exciting.

Throughout the game you see this mysterious man but when you get closer it is just some rock. I will let you know what that is all about when I watch the film or get a bit further!

We like the way that at the end of a level there is always something big and quite hard to do, such as luring the big snake to be shocked by eels or lure the huge crocodile into tremendous thorns. The game is very easy to play and sees you working your way through the jungle with Carl's house floating above you (long story!)

There are lots of puzzles to tackle and you have to be able to time your jumps well, it's quite funny when you have to bounce on the balloons attached to the house to get coins and to get across the big gap between two pieces of earth.

I liked the way Russell stood on the end of a long rock, which tips like a see-saw, then Carl jumps on the other end and Russell springs over the gap.

The game is best played with more than one player, as it can get a bit repetitive on your own, but is good fun as a team. It is a perfect family game.

The graphics are brilliant and just what you would expect from Pixar. I loved the game, it's bright, colourful, easy to play and lots of fun.
