Family Trainer: Extreme Challenger (Wii)

By Steve Wollaston on Oct 11, 09 07:04 PM

The original Family Trainer title was an early success on the Wii, combining a Family Matt controller with the Wii-mote to make mums, dads and kids all over the country look totally ridiculous all in the name of entertainment.

If your idea of entertainment is jumping up and down on big buttons on a dance-mat and looking totally bonkers then you should be in the queue at the shop already.

Jokes apart, though, this is perfect family entertainment and will have you splitting your sides with laughter and burning off a few calories to boot.

As the title would suggest the emphasis here is on more "Extreme" activities. There are 15 in total ranging from BMX biking to rock climbing and base-jumping to err... skipping.

The game on the whole is brilliant fun. You can play on your own if you wish, but the real value is taking on a member of the family head-to-head.

You can use your Wii-Mii's for each of the game which is always a good hoot, particularly on Wii Sports Resort!

The graphics on Family Trainer: Extreme Challenger are superb, very cute and colourful but also crystal clear and very in tune with what you are doing with your hands and feet.

The production of the game is first-class and a lot of thought has gone into making sure that this is as high quality as the first offering.

This has gone down a storm in our house and I can strongly recommend it for families with kids between the ages of 6-16, but in all honesty it's aiming at all age ranges. Excellent fun.
