Review: It's My Birthday (Wii)

By Steve Wollaston on Jul 16, 09 01:58 PM

I love games that try to do something a little bit different and this is certainly a  different kind of game.

In reality it's a compendium of games all themed around birthday party games. That's what this is it's one big birthday party for the Wii.

The package embraces the quite normal medium of pens and paper by including some colouring sheets and invitations and even a crown!

The main purpose of the game though us to provide a compilation of party games on the Wii that is simple, playable and a lot of fun.

Games included are things like Pin The Tail On The Donkey, The Sack Race, Musical Chairs, Rock Climber and SlingShot - some of the games are better than others but all have an element of fun to them.

This I can imagine would be ideal for younger children up to the age of 10 and would be ideal for a birthday party, it's a really nice idea, totally harmless and with a real purpose to it.

The games themselves are effective and fun even if they aren't going to win any innovation awards. I really liked it and found it quite charming, the magic is of course that the games can be played anytime not just at birthdays.
