Pikmin 2 (Nintendo Wii)

By Steve Wollaston on Apr 28, 09 04:31 PM

THIS is a second bite of the Nintendo cherry for Pikmin 2, the first attempt was on the Wii's predecessor - the Game Cube.

The Game Cube was a cult classic console that never really hit the heights it should have and is now keeping the Sega Dreamcast company in the world of 'the nearly made its'.

Nintendo have shrewdly realised that this gem of a game deserved another go and it was a decision I am sure plenty of gamers will be happy with.

You can't really describe this game without sounding a bit mad. It's very zany and sees you controlling a bunch of Pikmin and using these multi-coloured flower creatures to help you in lots of different ways.

Each Pikmin has a different skill and strength, using them in the right way is important.

The use of the Wii controls is great with a real focus on making this game Wii-specific with some really intuitive use of the Wii-mote.

Problem solving, strategy and dollops of wackiness await you with Pimkin 2. It's like nothing else you will have played before and is definitely worth a look if you are after something a little different.

In fact he is probably far too old for it now which is why you will see a lot of reviews been done by kids... His major love is sports games and rates Sensible World of Soccer circa 90's as the greatest game ever made - closely followed by Championship Manager 2. Skyrim has currently taken over his life.
