By now you will probably have heard of The Princess And The Frog. As you would expect with any Disney release, the TV commercials and advertisements on the side of the buses are in full swing.

Vancouver 2010 (PS3)

By Steve Wollaston on Feb 3, 10 07:52 PM

I always approach any game built around an 'event' with caution.

This encompasses the mostly-awful movie tie-ins that have been a rash over the games industry for many years but also another beast - the sports event game

Winter Olympics 2010 (PS3)

By Steve Wollaston on Jan 26, 10 07:28 PM

With the recent deluge of snow and ice, we Brits have been getting a taste of winter sports without having to venture further afield than the Lickey Hills!

But with the white stuff thawed out, at least for the time being, you may want to hit the slopes - from the comfort of your sofa.

You Tube is a great place to find the zaniest of clips, none more so than these Tetris themed ones.

Enjoy!

Dark Void (360)

By Steve Wollaston on Jan 15, 10 07:58 PM

The combination of combat on foot and in the air via jet-pack set in a mysterious alien void made me sit up and take notice.

The concept of this game is brilliant as you switch from jet-pack dog-fighting to on the floor combat, the mechanics of both equally as good.

Apologies for not bringing you this title in the Christmas round-up, but there have been so many games lately we have literally been drowning in a sea of Japanese RPG's and Wii party games!

When it comes to family party games, the Scene It! franchise is just the job for when you have friends over or fancy some good family fun.

Bayonetta (360)

By Steve Wollaston on Jan 15, 10 07:48 PM

If you haven't heard of Bayonetta, I applaud you! That means you have avoided the internet, TV and magazine saturation of the past two weeks.

U Sing (Wii)

By Steve Wollaston on Jan 15, 10 07:42 PM

FAMILY karaoke will never be the same again.

Get the earplugs in and prepare for a winter blast of Lady Gaga, Coldplay and Amy Winehouse numbers to batter the eardrums.

The Biggest Loser (DS)

By Steve Wollaston on Jan 15, 10 07:38 PM

I should have reviewed this game before Christmas.

Spore Hero (Wii)

By Steve Wollaston on Jan 15, 10 07:36 PM

An all-new Wii adventure for the popular Spore franchise and not before time.

Steve Wollaston - Sunday Mercury games reviewer Steve has been writing about video games for donkey's years. In fact he is probably far too old for it now which is why you will see a lot of reviews been done by kids... He was recently nominated for Regional Games Journalist Of The Year at the Games Media Awards which he believes was a fluke. His major love is sports games and rates Sensible World of Soccer circa 90's as the greatest game ever made - closely followed by Championship Manager 2.
