The Ashes Catch Fire

By Luke Wilkins on Jul 13, 09 11:31 PM

My generation of England cricket fan has grown up with only really one constant in their life, the feeling of being let down.

It was Kerrangs 5th birthday celebrations yesterday, and I must admit it got rather messy!

The Carnage had only just begun.jpg

Hell yeah, I'm back!!!

Andy Powell or the Incredible Hulk? This is what I look like when I train..honest!

So with the first big transfer move of the season now done and dusted, perennially want away Villans midfielder Barry joining the new richest club in the world Man City, experts are predicting that this could be the biggest summer ever of transfer spending.

They're both on my Offside show today on Kerrang, that's what!

What with everything else going on in the World of sport at the moment, the F1, French Open, Lions Tour, not to mention England's footy game against Kazakhstan tomorrow, you'd almost be forgiven for not noticing that a World Cup takes place in this country over the next few weeks, starting today!

The Lions Roar Back!

By Luke Wilkins on Jun 4, 09 05:16 PM

Never take a backward step, never say die, never give in, don't walk off the pitch with anything left in the tank and be prepared to hit anything that moves, including the ref, when you here a "99" call.

Finally the Lions give their fans something to cheer.jpg

Over the years I have been pretty lucky with injuries, in fact in the past few rugby and cricket seasons I have only missed 4 weeks of games because of it, and that was down to a silly tap tackle in training which gave me a spiral fracture in my left hand.

Gladstone Small, neck issues, nuff said!.JPG

Gits.jpg

Apologies firstly for the lack of blogs over the weekend, but unfortunately my busted neck returned with a vengeance while weight training last week, although this was an altogether new pain, this time involving migraines which have meant apart from when I have been at work (which has been A LOT!), I have mostly been hiding in a darkened room, which is rubbish when you consider the weather, but it did allow me to watch all of the amazing amount of sport that was on over the Bank Holiday...........and it almost went perfectly to plan!

Champions again!.jpg

So we did it, it may not have been pretty, and it may not have been a great performance from the boys, but after a full season, and the Playoff Final, Leicester Tigers are once again Guinness Premiership Champions thanks to a 10-9 victory over London Irish at Twickers on Saturday.
