May 2009 Archives

Over the years I have been pretty lucky with injuries, in fact in the past few rugby and cricket seasons I have only missed 4 weeks of games because of it, and that was down to a silly tap tackle in training which gave me a spiral fracture in my left hand.

Booya, what a weekend the sun is out, I have a beautiful motorbike to cruise around on and more importantly, there is a whole schmorgazboard of sport on!

Apologies firstly for the lack of blogs over the weekend, but unfortunately my busted neck returned with a vengeance while weight training last week, although this was an altogether new pain, this time involving migraines which have meant apart from when I have been at work (which has been A LOT!), I have mostly been hiding in a darkened room, which is rubbish when you consider the weather, but it did allow me to watch all of the amazing amount of sport that was on over the Bank Holiday...........and it almost went perfectly to plan!

Champions again!.jpg

So we did it, it may not have been pretty, and it may not have been a great performance from the boys, but after a full season, and the Playoff Final, Leicester Tigers are once again Guinness Premiership Champions thanks to a 10-9 victory over London Irish at Twickers on Saturday.

These two have big plans for today.jpg

Man United will be crowned Premier League Champions today when they play my beloved Arsenal at Old Trafford, bringing an end to one of the most exciting title races of the last few years. I hate to say it, but they deserve it too, as they have consistently performed well, even when they had key players out injured, and they have that knack of winning the big games.

The Boss and the team collect the Station of the Year award.jpg

So you might have heard.......we only went and won blooming Station of the Year at the Sony's, radios equivalent of the Oscars the other night!!!

Asahley Cole is a money grabbing traitor.jpg

Football, a game of two halves played by 11 men a side, that's all I have to say about the weekends action............what.........you want me to talk about Arsenal...............bugger!

Onions takes another Wicket.jpg

First up well done England, not something I get to say that often, even more so when you consider it is aimed at our much maligned test team. They managed to roll over the West Indies at Lords in 3 days and in doing so sealed their first victory in an opening test match for 15 series.

Man Utinted deserved winners the gits.jpg

What can I say after last night, I was so excited and after Wenger claimed we would definitely win, I really believed that the Mighty Gooners would go out there and play to their full potential and smash United.......oh dear!

Yes another Bank Holiday is here, and I wonder if I am the only person spending most of the day mooching around going "ooh Ahh, oohh ahh!"??

I love my cricket - but wow I always feel old the next day after the first game of the season.jpg
