Fightstar-ariffic, Keep of the Grass and The Kerrang DJ Party Bus!!

By Luke Wilkins on Apr 2, 09 03:27 PM

Thought I would do a quick update to just let you know how good the Live at Kerrang with Fightstar and In Case of Fire was and show you some pics!!!!

Fighstar with the Matt Hampson Rugger ball.jpg

Fightstar are immense, Charlie Simpson the front man, used to be in Busted............and he has done his time for his crimes against music, and I didn't even say it to his face today, as I truly feel that with Fightstar they are producing some of the best music in the UK at the moment. He alos loves the banter, and Loz from the evening show got in a great bit today while introducing the band saying, "Blimey that Charlie is big, if he fell over he woul dbe half way home!".

Me and Charlie with the R6.jpg

Charlie and the boys were one of my first guests on my Offside show over a year ago, but then we didnt have the Streetbike R6 that we are auctioning off for the Teenage Cancer Trust so I got 'em to sign it this time. They are also a top bunch of boys and its nice to have someone to stand next to in photos that makes me look small......especially after my pics with the Enemy led one of my friends to comment........you look like Gandalf in the Shire!!!

Anyway make your own mind up about that statement, as here is me with the Enemy.................whose gigs at the Academy on Monday and Tuesday were immense!!

I am Gandalf, look at my Enemy shaped Hobbits.jpg

Fightstar have there new album, Be Human, out on 20th April, and I can tell you it rocks!! I loved the first single The English Way, sure it has some cheesy choral bits and vox effects, but it rocked my socks (so much so that I sang along rather loudly at the LAK!), and the current one Mercury Summer is pretty darn hot too!

If that wasn't enough, they also bought there mates In Case of Fire (aka Keep of the Grass, or Insufficient Funds, or Emergency Exit...........okay they are not known as those.....but I found that funny!) who are brilliant, I saw them live at the Academy on the Kerrang Tour, and wow they rule!!!!

In Case of Fire love balls.jpg

There new album is out on the 11th May, and is called Align the Planets, check 'em out if you get a chance live!!!

I will blog back Saturday monring previewing the weekend - catch you then amigos, oh and I am DJ'ing at the Velvet Lounge tonight from 10pm with the legend that is my buddy Johnny Doom from the Late License and Temple of Doom on Kerrang, Ding Ding the Kerrang DJ Party Bus is on its way so pop down, dance your arse off, and buy me a beer!!!
