The punishment dished out to Dean Richards following the Harlequins fake blood scandal has shocked the rugby world.

But what is even more shocking is not the fact that somebody would be sick enough to think up such a con - but the fact that they thought they would get away with using an effect so fake that it wouldn't even pass on a badly-dressed vampire at a kid's Halloween fancy dress party.
