A goal, a goal, Big Eck's kingdom for a goal!
There's no doubt that promotion-chasing Birmingham City are in desperate need of goals but if proof is needed of their failure in front of the onion bag in recent weeks then here it is.
No, it's not the fact that Blues have scored just six goals in their last ten fixtures and it's not even the fact that, minus injured top scorer Kevin Phillips, Alex McLeish's remaining stock of five strikers have only bagged 18 between them all season.
The proof comes in the club's official website's goal-of-the-month poll (which can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/bctsqz )
Let us run through the four options.
A - Kevin Phillips V Burnley - A tap-in created from a defensive gaffe.
B - Mitchell McPike V Cardiff City Youth - OK, it's a stunner but things are so bad that they've had to turn to the youth team for their goal-scoring kicks.
C - Marcus Bent V Nottingham Forest - Another tap-in, one that came at the second time of asking.
D - Keith Fahey V Nottingham Forest - Looked to be a majestic effort initially but the player himself later admitted that it was a fluke as it was supposed to be a cross.
So there you have it, February has been a goal-drought for Blues, let's hope that March brings a feast of net-bulgers for Big Eck's boys.
