Sylvan makes a stand against Baggie Boothroyd

By Mat Kendrick on Dec 1, 08 04:02 PM

aidy.jpgIT seems you can take the boy out of West Brom but you can't take West Brom out the boy, where Aidy Boothroyd is concerned.

Albion's former youth system supremo has been working as a pundit for Sky Sports since being given the old heave-ho as Watford boss.

And Boothroyd couldn't resist a cheeky dig at Wolves hotshot Sylvan Ebanks-Blake during the TV coverage of Saturday's derby draw with Birmingham.

In a pre-recorded interview during the build up to the match, Molineux's double-barrelled shooter revealed he wants to become an all-time old gold and black great.

Ebanks-Blake would love to be so popular at Wolves that they one day name a stand after him.

"I don't think there would be a stand big enough to fit his name on!" mocked Boothroyd, back in the studio.

But Ebanks-Blake had the last laugh when his smart equaliser did no harm whatsoever to his chances of achieving a legendary standing at Molineux.
