Villa's bouncing Bulgarian
THERE was one man happier than most down at Bodymoor Heath today when Villa pulled Litex Lovech out of the hat for the next round of the UEFA Cup.
No, it wasn't Martin O'Neill after finally coming out on top in his summer-long pursuit of James Milner nor was it the now ex-Newcastle flyer himself having finally been handed the move to Villa he longed for two years ago.
Villa's very own happy chappy was bouncing Bulgaria international Stiliyan Petrov who was skipping around like a kid on Christmas morning.
But a return to his homeland wasn't the reason behind Montana-born Petrov's delight.
'At least we're not going somewhere where we might get kidnapped' remarked the excitable midfielder affectionately known as Stan.

I expect Villa to have every possibility of winning a trophy this season and the UEFA cup may just represent their best chance. Of all the top 10 sides from last season, they are the only ones to invest in a number of quality signings, and if they avoid AC Milan in the early stages and the English contingent then I can already see their name on the trophy.
GOD I HOPE YOUR RIGHT CHRIS!
Nice to see that Petrov rates UEFA Cup games on what the "possibilty of getting kidnapped" is.
Anway, how good is it that Villa potentailly have an all England team to conquer Europe (maybe not GK though). Capello should come down and sit in the Holte to see how it's done. In MON we trust!!
Villa's midfield looks quite tasty this season - was it £10m for milner in the end?
Villa looking great this season. Good result against Liverpool yesterday, although we could have nabbed 3 points! I think the O'Neil magic is going to really start coming through this season! Also, the fact that most of the England squad is from Villa means Capella will be watchin makes playing for us an attractive proposition!! Come on Villa!
Cappela / Cappelo = same thing! Sorry, Ian is an idiot...
Milner was £12 million in the end James!
MON has spent a lot of money now, my only fears now are if the team can gel together quickly...
Young and Milner should be frightening to play against anyway. its also good to see Petrov is happy and is settling at Villa now, i think he will have a good season and will get better and better.
I hope Petrov gets kidnapped in the following round and the ransom is 12 million or James Milner.
