GaGa in a bottle...

You'd better spray her the right way... oh no, wrong song. That would be Christina Aguilera I was thinking of there.

However, I did mean to talk about Lady Gaga.

I know I keep harping on about the crazy pop idol, and you'd be forgiven for thinking I had a bit of a girl-crush on her (I don't, just so you know, she just fascinates me), but she just keeps on inventing, and re-inventing, and shocking, and just basically doing 'stuff' time after time. Much more interesting a subject than the X Factor contestants (yawn) or Victoria Beckham's latest outfit that we've probably all seen before, just in a different colour.

This time, I regret to say it's not going to shock anyone. Well, at least I don't think it will, but then we are talking about Gaga here; when Gaga wants to shock, Gaga shocks.

Anyway, the latest on Gaga-watch (maybe I should just give in and make Gaga-watch a permanent feature here?) is that she has announced she is going to release her own perfume. Yippee! Another celebrity endorsed perfume we won't want to buy, that will soon be in all discount stores faster than we can click our fingers... although actually I get the feeling these might fly off the shelves, because again, we are talking about Gaga. There seems to be nothing the woman can't achieve. Apart from keeping her clothes on and being subtle.

But what will Gaga in a bottle actually smell like? Will she take inspiration from one of her many stage, or awards ceremony outfits? We're talking all kinds of options here; frogs (Kermit outfit), soap, bubble bath or fairy liquid (bubble outfit), rotting carcass (raw meat dress - as if I needed to explain!), rubber (this applies to several outfits!), dirty laundry (for her love of bearing her pants, and nearly everything under them), a crow (black feather bird-like outfit), or maybe even just an ass, or a donkey as a tribute to the amount of times she likes to get her derriere out... OK maybe that would be more than a little distasteful.

Who knows what Gaga in a bottle, bottled Gaga, Eau de Gaga will smell like; maybe she will actually shock us all and come out with something that smells really, really..... nice! I mean hey, who said shocking had to be vulgar, controversial or ridiculous? After all, rumour has it that Lady Gaga, nee Stefani Germanotta, is, in actual fact, actually really 'nice'. Shocking.

Why do celebs make branded perfume? It's usually the sign of a desperate artist trying to make a few more bucks before they're yesterday's news. Gaga is anything but yesterday's news and I'm positive she will be around for a good few years to come.

Have to agree with you though, rather intrigued by what her perfume will smell like. I mean, she has the contacts in the fashion world, maybe she'll be able to pull something out of the bag after all.

Let's hope so! So far, celeb perfumes have only disappointed... the problem however with a Gaga perfume, is that whether it smells good or not, you can guarantee every 15 year old girl will be wearing it - not ideal for those of us in our mid-late 20s wanting to be more distinguished from most of those around us.
