April 2010 Archives
There was once a time when Tesco could often be associated, loosely, and generally by silly teenagers, with a somewhat promiscuous female. It was cheap, and its opening hours far exceeded general opening hours of most shops.... OK, the phrase was 'Tesco Legs: cheap, and always open'.
But oh how things have changed.
Once known for being just another supermarket selling groceries at a fairly cheap price, fast forward a few years and you have electrical goods, home-wares, car insurance, a mobile phone network, dental and health plans, home insurance, and many more. That's not to mention a very successful clothing line, of which I for one am slightly partial to purchasing from time to time; supermarket 'chic' is not what it used to be many years ago, when all you could find would be a few pairs of super-sized thermal granny pants, drab nylon nightdresses and the essential multi-pack of cotton socks.
I do love a spot of Britney gossip from time to time, but this time the pop diva has really come up trumps.
As model for Candies, Britney was photographed in little more than a swimsuit. Horrifying thought for most of us girls (cellulite, dimples, muffin top, less-than-washboard stomach, thunder thighs, blemishes, bingo wings.... the list goes on), yet our lovely Britters happily went ahead.... and went a step further.
Britney Spears has released images of herself TOTALLY unairbrushed. Allowing them to be placed next to her airbrushed images, and do you know what? Her legs are shorter, plumper and less smooth than the retouched images would have you believe, her waist is not as slim, the bum is not quite so small and pert.... but do you know what? She looks normal (size 10 ladies) and she still looks fantastic.
Go Britney!
Here is the retouched version:

Now, as the un-retouched images are subject to copyright, I am unfortunately going to have to send you over to the Daily Mail's website to take a sneaky peak. But for once, it's definitely worth it: Britney un-retouched!
This year, if you haven't so far noticed a massive rise in the popularity of cup cake consumption... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
Not being a typical cake-eater myself (whatever a typical cake-eater is), even I have been swayed by the delightfully delicious offerings from our local cup-cake selling delis and cafes. Those pretty, stylish, swirly icing shapes decorated with various sweet gems are almost too much for my luscious lips to resist... and eventually I gave in. Although I must admit it is the icing decoration that I lust after most, rather than the cake itself.
