If you're gay it's probably because your mum sat on a plastic chair!

Boys. Have any of you ever worried that you might have a few more feminine tendencies than perhaps some of your other male friends? Well, if you take a look at this BBC report , apparently it could all be down to the plastic chair your mum used to sit on when you were but a teeny weeny little foetus growing in her womb.

Bizarre? Yes! But very possible by the sounds of it.

(I'm sure it's a little more complicated than that, but I like the sound of it put this way.)

There are supposedly chemicals called phthalates, found in plastic materials, that if a boy is heavily exposed to whilst in his mother's womb, can alledgedly cause the boy "to be less likely to play with boys' toys like cars or to join in rough and tumble games".

OK, so far that's not too bad, however if you read on a little...

"There are many different types and some mimic the female hormone oestrogen....
Now they say certain phthalates also impact on the developing brain, by knocking out the action of the male hormone testosterone."

Eek! So boys, if you find yourself trying to compete with me in the 'who can wear the highest heels... and not fall over' stakes, THIS could be why!
