Don't forget the 'Farah Flick'

By Sarah Morris on Jun 26, 09 02:12 PM in Fashion

You can't deny that today is a sad day for pretty much, like, everyone. Michael Jackson has died. The man who brought us iconic pop songs such as Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean... who was infamously linked to child abuse 'claims', who was in the very least a little eccentric, rather flamboyant, an ingenius dancer with a very individual personal style (not counting the turning up to court in his pyjamas here) and last of all but most certainly not least, incredibly famous for his love of, or maybe addiction(?) to surgical 'enhancement'.

But are we forgetting something here? While yes it is very sad, we have lost a musical genius, a rock God and massive inspiration, when it comes down to it, he was a man, a human, just like the rest of us. There are also others out there who deserve just as much attention.

Farah Fawcett, remember her? The beautiful 'Charlie's Angel' who brought us the Farah flick. The much coveted and reinvented, even iconic hairstyle of the 1970's, that ladies the world over still emulate and update today.

Farah had battled with cancer over the last few years until ultimately it overcame her and took her life yesterday.

She may not have grown up in the spotlight, been an all singing, all dancing, all sparkling musical phenomenon, or even idolised (to the point of insanity!) by her fans all over the world.... but this lady did for fashion, cult TV and hairstyles what many try and fail to do.

So yes RIP Jacko, but today I am expressing my grief for Farah, who fought for years against the evils of cancer.
