My lurgy, 'Supermarket Chic' and by the way, Victoria Beckham is NOT sexy!

Cough cough... sniff sniff...

Yep. I have the lurgy. Pants!

Just when I was thinking "hey! I might have just gotten away without the dreaded winter cold this year" I got struck down with one mighty blow.

Apparently it's because I've been burning the candle at both ends. Whatever; as I've said before, 'work hard, play hard'.

Anyway, in the midst of all my coughing and spluttering I discovered one fantastic little tip to minimise the dreaded sore, cracking 'Rudolph' nose that usually goes hand in hand with this kind of unavoidable germy rankness.

Enter Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream; a little pricey it may seem, but trust me on this - a little goes a long way and it is worth every penny! Instead of my trusty Vaseline, this time I used a little on my nose before bedtime and then re-applied whenever my nose felt a bit dry... voila! Over a week into my lurgy and my nose is still perfectly (almost) in tact! Genius!

The celebs don't swear by it for nothing you know.

On another note, my quest for many a cold & flu remedy took me on a slight detour in Asda...

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, I am delighted to introduce you to my wonderful friend George. George and I say 'pah!' to all those designer snobs out there and 'hurrah!' to 'Supermarket Chic':

I managed to pick up probably my most flattering and comfortable high waisted pencil skirt yet, and a very stylish Victorian inspired gothic T-shirt/blouse for the grand total of £26!

I could have spent more, but unfortunately in the current economic climate, well, two items is where it had to stop (for one day at least). I could of course have chosen to carry on with my supermarket splurge and allow myself to starve by not being able to afford food... but to be honest I have no plans on becoming a size 0 anytime soon so food won I'm afraid - you don't need to be a clothes hanger to look good!

Young impressionable girls who read far too many magazines for your own good pleeeease take note here: Victoria Beckham dresses well. She is NOT sexy!

So back to my point: Money can't buy you style - it's not what you wear, it's how you wear it!

If you need any further evidence, cast your mind back to Jennifer Saunders' character 'Edina' from TV series Absolutely Fabulous....need I say more.
