December 2008 Archives
My blog this week is taken from my diary entries from this time of year in 1994, when I was touring with ELO Part 2 in South America.
Wednesday December 7th
Finished packing and drove to Heathrow to meet up with the band and our small road crew. Two-hour flight to Madrid, then boarded an Argentine Airways one to Buenos Aires, via Sao Paulo. Glad that the South American promoter had booked us into business class seats for such a long journey and managed to grab 4 or 5 hours sleep.
Thursday December 8th
After stop-over in Sao Paulo and an eternity getting through customs, we finally set foot in Buenos Aires. Very hot indeed. Driven to the Sheraton Hotel, checking in 26 hours after I left home. Ah - the joys of travelling!
Phoned home. Did a couple of TV and radio promo interviews. In the evening treated to dinner by the local promoter at very nice restaurant "Como".
Tennis player Amanda Sanchez Vacario also dining there.
Finally got to bed around midnight and that bed such a welcome sight.
