Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he's never seen Star Wars - despite calling Harry Potter this generation's version of the famous films.

The star, 22, who called himself a "geek", revealed the gap in his film-viewing history to Moviefone, blaming his age.

He told the website: "Now this information is going to be out there in the world... It's really bad."

Daniel, who appeared in the final Potter film this year, said: "I saw The Phantom Menace, and everyone's like, 'You saw that one! You didn't see the originals?!' I know! I was ten! I didn't know any better!"

The Woman In Black actor added: "I know that I would love them because I'm a geek - so I would definitely get into them."

He added "I do think of Potter as being this generation's Star Wars."

Daniel could catch up with the films in 3D, as it was announced last year that George Lucas's entire film saga is going to be shown in the eye-popping format.

IMG_1996.JPGStill bereft over the end of Harry Potter? The world become a little too muggle for you?

The exploits of the boy wizard were celebrated in this unusual tribute at the recent Nailympics at Olympia Beauty in London. Fantasy Nail Art is an admittedly niche extension of the manicurists' craft where practitioners can create the most elaborately-themed creations on little more than a fingertip.

These totally whacky talons are impressive to look out but probably not recommended for people whose lifestyle requires them to use a keyboard or...you know...their hands.

HARRY Potter stunner Emma Watson is all set for her first big film role since playing the role of Hermione Grainger.

She's being lined up by Guillermo del Toro to play Belle in his adaptation of
Beauty and The Beast.

The director of Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth is teaming up with producer Denise Di Novi, best known for her work on The Nightmare Before Christmas.

She identified so deeply with her Harry Potter character that she is "rediscovering
what it means to be an actress."

harry-potter-and-the-deathly-hallows-part-2.jpgAs the young wizards and witches of Hogwarts take up their wands for the final fight against the unnameable enemy, a quick YouGov poll of 1,000 ardent Harry Potter fans revealed their likes and dislikes

32 per cent of Britons have read the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and 56 per cent have seen the film

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the nation's favourite book and film of the series (15 per cent and 14 per cent respectively), followed in both cases by the Prisoner of Azkaban, with 12 per cent calling the third instalment the series their favourite book of the seven and 9 per cent their favourite of the eight films

Nearly two thirds of people (63 per cent) prefer the books to the films, but a quarter (25 per cent) would rather the films than the books

I'm not going to bore you with a review of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 - there are already a silly amount on the internet already.

Roz Laws will be reviewing it in this weekend's Sunday Mercury and on Anorak City so pop back for a lengthier review then.

What I will say is that I went to watch the film at the IMAX at Millenium Point in Birmingham and I was stunned at the quality of the film.

It once again highlights that films just keep getting better and better and this was in my opinion the cinematic climax that fans of the franchise deserve.

I bought into the Harry Potter books a long time ago, captivated by the characters and the magical story and settings - the films were always an added bonus.

In terms of reflecting the books then there is no doubt in my mind that this was the closest adaptation and the most loyal.

From the moment I read the book I wondered how on earth they would tackle the film but they do and it leaves you gobsmacked throughout.

As with the other films the heart of the story is the characters and their fears, their loves, their journeys and a good old fashioned fantasy battle between good and evil.

The film is epic with astonishing special events, poignant moments by the bucket-load, some great battle scenes and even some traditional Potter humour.

The 3D is excellent, very subtle but brilliant throughout.

If you are a fan, if you have lived and loved the films then do yourself a favour and book a seat at the IMAX for the biggest screen possible to watch it all end.

Every trailer they release it just looks better and better...

IT'S shaping up to be a hot summer, and we don't just mean the weather.

There's a host of big sci-fi and fantasy movies on the way. Here's your at a glance guide:

PRIEST.jpg
PRIEST (May 13):
Post-apocalyptic thriller set in an alternate world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. When the niece of warrior priest Paul Bettany is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, he breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to save her, joined on his crusade by a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former priestess with magical fighting skills.

PIRATES.jpg

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4 : ON STRANGER TIDES (May 20):
Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love or if she's just a con artist using him to find the Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard Blackbeard's ship, the scene's set for delightful piratical banter between Johhny Depp and Deadwood's Ian McShane.

X-MEN.jpg

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (May 27):
This is how it all begins. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr became Professor X and Magneto, they were the best of friends, discovering their powers for the first time. James McEvoy and Bill Milner eventually fall out, sparking the conflict continued in such fine style by Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in the other X-Men movies.

HARRY POTTER star Emma Watson has denied claims that bullying drove her to take a break from university.

Last month the actress announced she was taking time out from her studies at Brown University in the US so she could focus on her film career.

But last week it was alleged that she was bullied out of the Ivy League college by students who joked about her role in Harry Potter.

Watson said: "I have never been bullied in my life."
