While Ginger-gate still rages on in the Doctor Who community, David Tennant's tenure as (not quite) the last of the time lords has been recognised by sci-fi watchers. They have voted him best actor in the inaugural Total Sci-Fi Awards 2009.

Sexy brunette actress Jessica Biel is not an obvious choice to play a little green alien.

But after making her name in the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Justin Timberlake's 27-year-old girlfriend is up for anything.

The Lost team has always said that horror supremo Stephen King is a huge influence.

And now King has repaid the favour in his new book Under The Dome.

Think back to series 2 when Ben was a prisoner down the hatch.

He asked John Locke if there was any Stephen King to read.

Then, in series 3, Juliet's book club was reading Carrie by Stephen King when the plane came down.

Now King has name-checked the series in his latest best-seller.

In talks about 'The Hunted Ones' which he writes is a "a clever sequel to Lost".

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, are "beyond happy" we are told.

Stargate Universe and ER star Ming-Na is a geek - it's official.

But which does she prefer: Star Trek or Star Wars?

"I appreciate both," she tells Jenna Busch at her geek blog.

"I think Star Wars is more science fantasy and is based on a lot of great legendary heroes and morality plays and stuff.

"Star Trek is just pure fun. Pure science fun. And I've always appreciated both.

"I've always enjoyed watching silly sci-fi series like Buck Rogers and, you know, just devour Alien.

"Just anything that's fantastical, to me, is such a great use of the imagination and takes me to places that are not pure everyday life on Earth."

Surprisingly, the one show she never got into was ... Stargate.

"No, I really wasn't!" says Ming-Na, who plays lesbian HR lady Camille in SGU.

"I think at the point when the series had started, I was so much focused on my career and working and then the kids came along.

"It's kind of been great because, now that I'm in the show, I'm being reintroduced to one of my great loves, which is science fiction.

"And I'm meeting all these great sci-fi fans, either on Twitter or at conventions ... I love it! I feel like I've kind of come around full circle and I'm back to my high school days."

Horror master Stephen King's new bestseller Under The Dome is to be turned into a big-budget TV series.

Steven Spielberg has already agreed to be executive producer, along with top talent from his Dreamworks TV company.

After a series of dodgy small screen adaptations of his books, King will work closely with the team to make sure they get it right.

The action takes place in the small Maine town of Chester's Mill which is suddenly cut off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field that doesn't allow exit or entry.

Trapped inside, the townspeople start to squabble and divide into warring factions, ultimately descending into savagery.

Critics have already rated the book one of King's best, even going as far to say it's as good as The Stand, his epic tale of an apocalyptic battle between good and evil.

Twilight star Taylor Lautner literally did beef up to hang onto his role as Jacob Black in the teen vamp saga.
Just 16 when the first film was released, there were doubts that he would be able to put on enough muscle mass to play a character with a real wild side (hint: you wouldn't like him when he is angry) in New Moon.

Lost has carved out a reputation for its great use of music.

(Unlike Flash Forward, which is getting it all so, so wrong every week).

Remember that great scene on the castaway camp beach set to Jeff Buckley's haunting Hallelujah, for example?

Clearly, Lost co-producer Damon Lindelof is a man who knows his music.

So could it be significant when he says that the final season of the show is best matched by one special song?

It's Visions Of Johanna by Bob Dylan.

"There are certain lyrical phrases in that song that are very well-suited to season six," he says cryptically.

Make your own mind up. Turn the page for the lyrics ...

Twilight star Ashley Greene, who plays Alice in the vampire movie series, has signed up get spooky again.

She's set to appear in a film titled The Apparition, which is being touted as (surprise, surprise) a supernatural thriller.

Ashley has become a fright fan favourite after playing the sister of fanged Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Season three of Supernatural ended on a cliff hanger that could have killed the series more effectively than a Winchester brother offing a paranormal nasty. The evisceration of Dean at the hands, or rather claws, of a Hell hound.

But experience has taught fans that what's dead seldom stays dead in the world of Winchester.

For the millions of boys who adore her, there's never been a more aptly named film star than Megan Fox.

Often compared - whether she likes it or not - to Angelina Jolie, the actress's sultry looks and acting ability have ensured her star is well and truly on the rise.

After a handful of small roles in films such as Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen and guest appearances in sitcoms including Two And A Half Men, Fox found her breakout role thanks to Transformers in 2007.
