Director Jon Favreau thinks that the Cowboys and Aliens film is his "finest work".
However, his cautious post script of "whether it is something that is the most commercially accessible I don't know" has proved to be rather prophetic.
The mash up of Old West gunslingers vs technologically superior, multi armed ETs has met with somewhat lukewarm reviews and rather lacklustre box office.
Jon says he has no regret about taking the project in as it gave him a chance to breakaway from the superhero genre in which he's had most success.
Ready for the Doctor's return this Saturday?
Here's the official prequel to the controversial Let's Kill Hitler episode, specially put together by Steven Moffat himself!
The mini-episode bridges the gap between A Good Man Goes To War and Let's Kill Hitler, revealing how Amy feels in the aftermath of events at Demon's Run.
Sure, Eerie Indiana was a kids' show. But not every kids' show had the great Joe Dante (Gremlins, The Howling) as a creative consultant.
The show revolves around Marshall Teller, played by John Ross from Dallas, a young boy whose family moves to the desolate town of Eerie, Indiana, population of 16,661.
It's just Eerie isn't your regular town. I mean, Elvis lives down the street...
And here's Indiana's Australian cousin, Round the Twist...
Yes, we know the 2007 take on the adventures of Johnny Blaze was slow, slow, slow.
But Nic Cage is revving up the motorbike again for the 2012 sequel.
This time, Blaze is hiding out in Eastern Europe when he's called upon by shaven-headed monk Christopher Lambert (yes, the Highlander himself!) to stop the devil, who is trying to take human form.
According to the studio "Johnny, still struggling with his curse as the devil's bounty hunter, is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds).
"At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy -- and possibly rid himself of his curse forever."
Here's the trailer ...
Yoda sports a Zapata moustache, knotted sideburns and pigtails in a number of sketches included in ImagineFX's Star Wars special.
The mini Jedi master appears as he has never been seen him before in Iain McCaig concept sketches for 1999's The Phantom Menace - sporting an impressive Mohawk in one and a 'tache, 'burns and beard combo in another.
Also included in the special is the design by Lucasfilm's Aaron McBride for a combat robot, an addition to the Empire's army and a cousin of the iconic AT-ST walker from Return of the Jedi.
ImagineFX's collaboration with Lucasfilm - to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray - brings together artists from all six films.
Academy Award-winning artist Ralph McQuarrie recounts the creation of Star Wars: A New Hope, and award-winning painter Greg Hildebrandt reveals how he created the classic 1977 film poster.
There is an in-depth feature called Crafting the Prequels which talks to the artists who shaped the most recent films - showing how characters like Darth Maul and Jar Jar Binks were created.
There are also exclusive workshops show readers how to paint iconic Star Wars characters themselves
"Star Wars is the most iconic film series of all time," says Claire Howlett, editor of ImagineFX,
"These new unseen images and interviews provide a unique look into how the films were created by George Lucas and his team."
ImagineFX's Star Wars special goes on sale on today (August 23), priced £5.99. It's also available digitally at www.zinio.com/imaginefx-single. For more information visit www.imaginefx.com.
It has been a busy 12 months for Daniel Craig, 43, who has been working on four films which are all scheduled for release this year, and even managed to find time to marry his co-star on one of them, Rachel Weisz.
It was a silver lining in the otherwise grey cloud of the postponement of Bond 23 when MGM ran into financial difficulties.
These issues have now been resolved and filming is set to start this autumn with a release date of October next year.
Javier Bardem, Rhys Ifans and reportedly Ralph Fiennes, now he has finished unsuccessfully battling boy wizards, are all signed up to join Daniel and Judi Dench, reprising her role as M.
"(Director) Sam Mendes is doing it. We are having constant conversations about it, about where the script is at it is in a really good place," says Daniel.
"I am as excited about reading this script as I was about reading Casino Royale.
"The only thing we have said to each other is we both as English men and fans of Bond movies since we were kid is to make the best James Bond movie we can possibly do and that is what we are going to have a go at doing."
With his brooding looks and near mono-brow, Tyler Hoechlin (left) is perfect casting to play a lycanthrope in Teen Wolf (Thursdays, Sky Living).
It is hard to believe he was once the bright-eyed, innocent young Michael Suillivan Jr, (surviving) son of Tom Hanks' hitman with a heart, Michael Sullivan Snr, in Road To Perdition.
It's big. It's sexy. It's violent. It's The Immortals.
The battle of the gods blockbuster is due in cinemas on November 11.
To whet your appetite, here's the new John Hurt-narrated trailer.
What's it all about?
Well, the Gods led by Zeus (Luke Evans) have defeated the terrifying Titans, and locked them in a stony prison deep inside a mountain.
But along comes King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) who wants to free the Titans, and use them as his private army to enslave the world.
But first he needs some supernatural weapons. Where's a Xenoblade when you need one?
Alarmed by the threat, the Gods who aren't allowed to intervene directly in the affairs of men by their own rules (more like guidelines, really) elect a champion.
It's Theseus (Henry Cavill), the hero who defeated the Minotaur and escaped from Hades. Handy bloke in a time of crisis.
Expect swords, sorcery, soothsaying and sex. Game of Thrones supersized.
Craig Charles says that the new series of Red Dwarf will be geared to a new generation of fans.
The 47 year-old star says he's been inspired by the fans at a series convention in Manchester and that, although the characters will be older and wiser, they'll be trying to get down with the kids.
"I just did the Red Dwarf convention in Manchester," he tells Anorak City.
"There were 11 and 12-year-old kids with DVDs for me to sign, and I was thinking 'God, you weren't even born when these were being filmed'.
"It's got to a whole new generation, and long may it continue.
"I don't know what the new series is going to be like exactly, but we'll try to make it as funny and relevant as possible."
