NEWS: Angelina Jolie eyes role in Tim Burton's take on a Walt Disney classic
Angelina Jolie has revealed she would "love" to play the title role in Tim Burton's Maleficent.
The Changeling star, who next appears in spy thriller Salt alongside Liev Schreiber, has been rumoured to play the villainess in a forthcoming adaptation by the Alice In Wonderland filmmaker and said she would be up for the part.
"I would love to - it's all new and being discussed, but I loved her when I was a little girl; she was my favourite," she said.
"Tim Burton, the chance to work with him would be extraordinary."
The film is a darker take on Disney's Sleeping Beauty story, told from the princess' nemesis' point of view.
