The Dunwich Horror : HP Lovecraft tale is the first pictureless movie
HEAR THE FEAR
That's the buzz phrase at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Coming up is the debut of the world's first audio horror movie - HP Lovecraft's chilling The Dunwich Horror.
Faithfully adapted from the gothic classic, it debuts at the festival on June 23 at 7:45pm.
It's a full-length feature (without pictures) and takes supreme advantage of cinema's Dolby Digital Surround Sound system.
The audience is invited to close their eyes and immerse themselves in a world of intrigue, drama and devastating horror limited only by their imagination.
Wilbur Whateley - son of a deformed albino mother and an unknown father - matures at an abnormal rate, reaching manhood within a decade.
All the while, his sorcerer grandfather indoctrinates him into certain dark rituals and the study of witchcraft.
The plot revolves around the desire of Wilbur to engineer they manage the return of the mysterious (eldritch) "Old Ones", whose forerunner is the Outer God Yog-Sothoth.
They mange to entice an entity to their remote farmhouse where it grows out of their control.
