Dr Who's crack in the wall is real!

Fans of the latest season of Dr Who will be aware that a nasty crack in the space-time continuum seems to be following the time traveller around.

And this 'cosmic snake' found in our own Milky Way - and just 11,000 light years away from us - sure looks familiar!

It's actually the core of a thick, sooty cloud large enough to swallow dozens of solar systems and may be harboring beastly stars in the process of forming - well, so say space scientists.
