Just when you thought it was all over ...

There's an extra episode of Lost coming up on the complete Lost series DVD boxset.

Up to 14 minutes long, it'll tell the story of Hurley and Ben as guardians of the island!

Billed as an epilogue, word is that it'll answer more of our questions.

Michael Emerson, who played Ben Linus, says: "For those people that want to pony up and buy the complete Lost series, there is a bonus feature.

"It's what you could call an epilogue. A lost scene.

"It's 12 or 14 minutes that opens a window onto that gap of unknown time between Hurley becoming number one and the end of the series.

"It's self-contained, although it's a rich period in the show's mythology that 's never been explored, so who knows what will come of it."

Good news is that we get to know what happened. Bad news is that it's a cynical sales ploy to make us pay a small fortune for the set.

The Losers.jpg
It is quite the summer for elite units being falsely accused of crimes then going on the lam to right wrongs, get revenge on their betrayers and just blow s*** up.
There is very little escaping/avoiding the A Team, particularly now their publicity machine has taken over the Orange ads - "I love it when a talk plan comes together".
As an appetite whetter, this week sees the release of The Losers, a screen adaptation of the comic book by Andy Diggle, written for the cinema by actor and director Peter Berg, and directed by Stomp The Yard's Sylvain White.

Bostin comic in Excel show

By Alison Jones on May 26, 10 03:06 PM

bostin heroes.jpegThere's a comic extravaganza at EXCEL in London this weekend and Bostin Heroes will be claiming a small corner for the Midlands.
BH writer Matthew Craig will be in the Comics Village on both days, with a new Trixie Biker comic, "Trixie Biker and the Time-Wastrel," as well as the Beyond The Black Country Bootleg Edition. He will also be taking part in the Dino-Saw-Us passport programme.

After taking time to reflect and one rewatch I have to say the Lost journey was well worth it.

I can't add much to the excellent explanation put forward by Bonnie Covel - apart from a reminder that Michael is trapped as a whisper and Walt's time on the island is unlikely to have been the most important in his life.

Much of the disappointment aired on the net was not due to the way it ended but that it had ended. We've spent six years with these people. As Jack found, it's difficult to let go.

I don't think the writers will be too concerned by the reception as the heated debate is sure to rumble on for a long time yet.

However, I do have one quibble. What were the goddam numbers all about?

I'm led to believe they were explained away in other media, but not on the series.

This is just not on. They made such a big thing of the numbers and the query was one of the big two questions of Lost (the other being 'what is the island' which, while not really explained, was at least given a nod to by the writers).

Don't get me wrong, I didn't want everything answered (Who built the statue? How come Dharma was still dropping food onto the island? These are for us geeks to tackle.) but I did expect them to address one of the mysteries that was literally woven into the whole series.

I have a colleague who has yet to sit down and watch series six and his first question to me after the finale was 'Did they explain the numbers?'

My answer: 'Sorry dude.'

Sorry.

Will make you laugh though!

Lost : everything explained

Here's what Lost was all about, thanks to our good pal Bonnie Covel in the States, whose Lost blog has been a faithful friend all these years ...

The island of Lost is a very special place.

What makes it so special? The electromagnetic light at its heart.

The island is not the only special place; there are other electromagnetic pockets all over the world (as evidenced by the man Bernard took Rose to, Isaac of Uluru).

We focus on the island, however, because that is where our story takes place.

Lost Untangled: The End

LOST-island_1.jpg

For about two years now I have pretty much written constantly about what has been in my opinion the greatest tv show of my lifetime.

Now it has finished and I really can't think of any words to say.

Obviously I need to watch it again. The few people I have spoken to this morning seem equally as confused but more settled with the ending than me.

It was a great episode, and I even put my hatred of the fluffy character tie-ups to one side and forgave it because I knew it was required.

But then it turns out they are all dead anyway.

Jeez! Harsh! Did they get their happy endings before they died?

I am guessing that the characters all came together at this point no matter when they died.

I just wish the show had explored the mythology of the island more, answered the questions that seemed so vital at the time.

Somebody put that big glowing drain there after all and personally I think that as questions go I was more interested in that one being answered than whether or not Hurley and the fellow nutter got it on over a bowl of fried chicken.

I'll be back with a proper analysis, just let me mourn first.

They lied.

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse told us years ago that the Losties weren't dead.

But that's exactly what they were.

It's just that the Purgatory we'd predicted was in the flash-sideways world, rather than on the island.

(And we'd been suggesting that ever since they found GaryTroup's book in the wreckage of Oceanic Flight 815 on the beach).

The author's name, as we pointed out at the time, is an anagram of Purgatory.
