Michael Fassbender learns the hard way not to Pict a fight with Celtic tribes in Centurion, the latest film offering from The Descent and Dog Soldiers director Neil Marshall.
Fassbender, who starred as the Graham Greene-inspired commando in Inglourious Basterds, plays Quintus Dias, a Roman soldier and sole survivor of a clash with the Picts in northern Britain in 117AD.
The Romans refuse to take the defeat lying down and the Ninth Legion is sent in to wipe the pesky Picts from the face of the earth.

However, their general (Dominic West) is taken prisoner and Quintus faces a battle to keep his platoon alive behind enemy lines, rescue the general and make it to the frontier before they are caught by a revenge hungry former Bond girl (Olga Kurylenko as Etan, a warrior with an understandable axe to grind the against the Romans for slaughtering her family and cutting her tongue out).
Centurion has a cohort of British stars, including David Morrissey, Noel Clarke. JJ Field, Rachel Stirling and Riz Ahmed
Marshall has shown how well he can ratchet up the tension in stories about imperilled and isolated groups and has a deft hand with the violence and viscera, so there should be plenty to please the fans.
To whet your appetite for Centurion's release on April 23 we have three posters to give away, all signed by Neil Marshall.
For a chance to win one just answer this question.
