The Prisoner - the verdict

The original Prisoner series set in Portmeirion was oddly brilliant, a cult smash that has fans all over the world even now. It was tv at it's finest... so they remade it.

I tuned in last night eager to see what was what.

That is an hour of my life I won't get back.

I just hope they paid Gandalf well because magical this wasn't.

In fact it was awful. How on earth ITV can be daft enough to give this a prime-time slot is beyone me.

The acting was awful, the storyline and scene-setting was unconvincing and I acually spat my tea out in hilarity at the end when the big white ball came on.
