Early Life: Hayden Leslie Panettiere was born August 21, 1989 in New York, where she still lives with her ex-soap actress mother Lesley and dad Skip, a fire department lieutenant. Her younger brother Jansen is also an actor. She made her showbiz debut at 11 months in commercials. At the age of four Hayden starred in the soap One Life To Live, and left the show in 1997. She also appeared in the projects Aliens in the Family and How Do You Spell God?

Career: In 1998 Hayden featured in the Jennifer Aniston movie The Object of My Affection, and lent her vocal talents to the animated film A Bug's Life. In 2000, her dulcet tones were also used for the movie Dinosaur, and two years later she popped up as a recurring character in the series Ally McBeal. Other projects over the past few years have included Racing Stripes, Malcolm in the Middle and Commander in Chief. In 2007 she became a household name in the UK playing Claire Bennet, an indestructible cheerleader in Bafta-winning fantasy series Heroes. Aside from more helpings of that, other upcoming projects include Alpha and Omega, Carmel, and Hoodwinked Too! Hood VS Evil. Away from acting, she is an outspoken supporter of the Animal Liberation Front.

Love Life: Is rumoured to have split with Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia on Valentine's Day, 2009.

Don't Mention: Panic Room. She was originally cast to play Jodie Foster's daughter in that film, but the part eventually went to Twilight star Kristen Stewart.
