Horror master Stephen King's new bestseller Under The Dome is to be turned into a big-budget TV series.

Steven Spielberg has already agreed to be executive producer, along with top talent from his Dreamworks TV company.

After a series of dodgy small screen adaptations of his books, King will work closely with the team to make sure they get it right.

The action takes place in the small Maine town of Chester's Mill which is suddenly cut off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field that doesn't allow exit or entry.

Trapped inside, the townspeople start to squabble and divide into warring factions, ultimately descending into savagery.

Critics have already rated the book one of King's best, even going as far to say it's as good as The Stand, his epic tale of an apocalyptic battle between good and evil.
