Twilight star talks about New Moon
Twilight actor Kellan Lutz has revealed how he got the role of Emmett in the first part of the popular Twilight vampire saga.
The sequel New Moon is released on November 20, and he will also be in the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street next year.
"I was coming back from Africa, where I'd been doing a mini-series. I got the script for Twilight and I didn't know there was such a fanbase or following or that it was so popular.
"When I read it, I was like, 'This is actually a cool script'. I didn't know it was based on the book. It wasn't until I got the role and ended up going to Oregon to shoot it, I still didn't realise it was a book, so my friend Ashley [Greene, who plays Alice Cullen] told me."
"I wish I could say my character has changed in the new film. For me he's a blessing to play just because he's so happy and so loving. It's like an upward character development arc versus a character that a lot of actors would play where there's depression or anger. He's just a happy-go-lucky kid in a candy store most of the time.
"He's like a guy having to defend a piece of candy that someone's trying to steal from him. Most of the time he's not worried that a vampire is going to destroy him because he has this super strength ability. It's really nice to not worry as nothing can hurt you, so the only time he snaps into protective mode is when someone's hurting his family.
