Bryan Singer in X-men talks

Director Bryan Singer is chatting with 20th Century Fox over a return to the X-men series.

Singer, who directed the first two X-men films, bowed out of the flimsy final film of the trilogy (thank you Brett Ratner!) to go and make the spectacular bore-fest which was Superman Returns.

And with the spin-off X-men Origins: Wolverine seen as another disappointment (despite being a financial success), Singer could be the man to breath new life into the tarnished franchise.

If he can bring it up to the standard of X2 all well and good, but it'll be a struggle to reignite cinema-goers passions for the rabble of mutants.
