Twilight to blame for rise in Vampire crimes?

Spotted a great post over at the Examiner.comwhich examines the link between teen sensation Twilight and a rise in vampire related crimes.

Melissa Newby writes: Have you seen the Twilight movie or read New Moon, Eclipse, or Breaking Dawn?

Did you leave the theater longing to drink some blood or close your book and wish you could nibble on a neck? Pop culture is constantly accused of causing delinquent behavior and the Twilight series is not immune.

Does the vampire inspired series actually hold any responsibility for an individual's behavior, or should individuals claim their ill-inspired actions as their own?

A quick internet search uncovers several crimes with a vampire element. In one crime, an Ohio teen was charged with murder and kidnapping after luring an older boy to a home where he was beaten and stabbed. Two adult men, reported to be lovers of the charged teen, claimed that they are vampires and used the teen to lure the victim to the location.
