January 2009 Archives
OK, you can stop holding your breath.
Season Four of Prison Break looks set to return to Sky TV on Tuesday April 21, 2009.
But it won't be with us for long.
As Fox TV has cancelled the show back in the States, there'll be just eight episodes.
That will include a specially shot two-hour episode to tie up all the loose ends.
Probably the right decision in the end.
Season 1 was exceptional, and Season 2 kept the tension high.
But Season 3, set in Sona, was hit and miss.
And Season 4 has been a bit like the A-Team.
Still, we'll be seeing Michael and Lincoln facing off each other as they battle over the secretive Company, and their mum's bid to buy Scylla.
Fox says that there's a clever twist to the finale. Watch this space ...
OKAY, so did the earth move for you?
The island certainly did and now we know it's careering about haphazardly through time.
One thing's for sure: our castaways are in for a big shock this Sunday.
Captured by the Others, led by gun-toting Ellie (pictured above), they're about to discover what, when, how and why something big happened.
Meanwhile, Kate's about to come face to face with Ben Linus again.

Ok, it's back, nearly. Want to see some spoilers? Of course not. We knew that. But IF you did, you could always press play?
I am not a number! I am a free man!
Ah yes, as regular reader Steve Green points out, The Prisoner is back.
And we've been remiss in not giving the remake a mention.
The new version is a mini-series from AMC, and is a re-interpretation of the British 1960s cult hit starring Patrick McGoohan.
This time round, Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ) is No 6, the former spy trapped in a mysterious village.
His nemesis is Ian McKellen (Lord Of The Rings), who appears as No 2 - the power behind the throne.
You'll recall that in the original series, No 2's came and went as McGoohan outwitted them.
And we only got to discover who No 1 was in a bewildering final episode, which involved a rocket and a chimp.
Others appearing in the remake include Ruth Wilson (Jane Eyre) as No 13 and Lennie James (Jericho) as No 147.
But don't expect the quaint Welsh resort village of Portmerion to make a comeback, too.
Most of the new series has been filmed in South Africa and Namibia.
Ian McKellen maintains a blog from the set here
It's not the first time that a Prisoner remake has been on the cards.
Back in 2005 Granada announced plans to bring No 6 back, with Christopher Eccleston in the title role.
But he ended up, of course, as the new Dr Who.
There's no firm date for the AMC remake's run, although the satellite and cable channel is starting a re-run of the original series as it builds up to the big day.
Move over Matt Smith. Here's the new Doctor Who.
It's Catherine Tate regenerated as the Doctor as she takes part in a spoof for the Sunday Night Project.
Tate played mouthy assistant Donna Noble in the show but here she looks more like her former co-star David Tennant.
Check out those sideburns, tousled brown hair and long overcoat.
Tate also joins hosts Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr, all sporting blond wigs with thick fringes and huge sunglasses to perform a sketch about hip New York singer Lady GaGa.
Collins dresses up as a bride, spoofing Tate's Doctor Who character, while Carr mimics Lauren "Am I bovvered?" Cooper.
The show goes out this Sunday at 10pm on Channel 4.
Find me somebody who isn't excited about this game! If only they would make a new film!!
One of the cleverest things on the net, well worth a look if you haven't seen it before!
As we told you earlier, Lost Season 5 hits Sky 1 screens again at 9pm on Sunday January 25 with two episodes that challenge many of the things we've come to accept.
Click here for mild spoilers and here for a new studio gallery of more than 40 shots of our castaway chums, and those Ocean Six trying to get back on the beach.
We last saw him on the freighter as it exploded.
We saw his grave stone.
But Jin is very much alive and well - and heading for a right royal reception.
Actor Daniel Dae Kim is to star as the King in a new production of The King And I.
He'll be joining Olivier Award winner Maria Friedman and The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at London's Royal Albert Hall, from June 12 to 28, 2009.
Friedman's many stage credits include The Witches of Eastwick, The Woman in White, Chicago, Lady in the Dark, Passion, Ragtime and Sunday in the Park with George, as well as numerous solo concerts.
Daniel is best known for playing Jin-Soo Kwon in Lost but has also been in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Angel, 24, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, The Shield, NYPD Blue, ER - and, er, Power Rangers.

The new Knight Rider series is heading our way from the States, and features an all-new KITT.
Take a look at how the supercar, voiced by former Batman Val Kilmer, transforms into a battlewagon!
After watching a couple of episodes, I can reveal that KITT even turns into a pick-up truck during one chase scene.
And watch out for The Hoff in a tear-jerking cameo right at the end of the first episode!
